Munro College booked their place in the Ben Francis Knock Out on Wednesday after mauling Newell High 9-0 in a rescheduled Zone E game played at Newell High.

The win, Munro College’s eight of the season, ensured they won Zone E with 25 points, three more than St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) who they beat 3-2 the previous weekend, to sweep the season series.

Munro will now turn their attention to the quarterfinals of the Ben Francis Knock-Out against Manchester High at STETHS on Saturday.

Meanwhile in Wednesday’s first round of the Ben Francis KO there were wins for Lennon High, new comers Paul Bogle High, Manchester High and Rusea’s High.

Two goals from Ewan Grandison and one from Justin Johnson led Lennon to a 3-0 win over Spalding High at Jamalco, the exact same result from a year ago.

Paul Bogle made their entrant to the competition, a winning one as they beat Annotto Bay High 2-0, to end their unbeaten run all season long.

Rafe Green and Jahnel Lee scored for the Zone L champions who will now face High riding Dinthill Technical on Saturday.

At Jarrett Park, it took a goal in the second period of extra time from Brian Brown to give Rusea's a 1-0 win over Marcus Garvey Technical in a game where both schools missed several easy chances to score.

Marcus Garvey finished the game with nine players after Latroy Laing and Jonathon Douglas were both sent off after picking up a second yellow card each.

The teams battled to a goal-less draw in the regulation 90 minutes before Rusea's finally found a way through the Marcus Garvey defence, when Brown's free kick from the right side of the 18 yards box, ended in the far corner of the goal.

At Frome, Manchester High blanked Mannings School 2-0 to book their place in the top eight.
